In Shock

Yesterday evening my father died suddenly and unexpectedly. I hadn't seen him for some time and I was looking forward to visiting him again between Xmas and the New Year. He was also very much looking forward to spending Xmas day at my brother's house. Today a post mortem was carried out and it was discovered that the cause of death was COPD(Coronary Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder). It wasn't as if he was young (he was 82) but we had no idea that he was suffering from COPD and were given to understand that, physically, he was relatively fit for his age. However, apparently his breathing was stopped by fluid accumulating in his lungs and he passed very quickly. I'm gutted . . .

Oh Hazel I am so sorry. This is the first day in an age that I have checked in, as MIL died on Jan3rd - however, her death was not unexpected, we had time to prepare ourselves. I am thinking of you and hope the new year brings you some joy.
